The Terms and Conditions here under govern your use of the National Water Commission (NWC) Mobile App which is available on the Google Play Store or Apple Store hereafter referred to as the NWC Mobile App. NWC maintains this mobile application to provide you with but not limited to information on your account, apply for service and access to pay your water bills online.

The site is intended to promote the services offered by NWC and is not intended to provide legal, accounting, or tax advice, and should not be viewed or relied upon for those purposes. The use of the site is subject to the terms and conditions herein and to all applicable laws and negotiations. By accessing the site, you accept without limitation or qualification the terms and conditions of the Website which is owned by NWC.

If you do not agree to be bound by these terms or conditions, you should not access this site or any of the pages herein.

Access

All information submitted to NWC via this site shall become and remain the property of NWC may be used for any legal purpose, any ideas, concept, and techniques contained in the information provided by the users of the site. NWC makes no representations nor gives any warranty as to the accuracy of the information on the site but at all times NWC will exercise its best effort to ensure accuracy and up-to-date information on the site.

All rights in the images of people, places, text, and web pages, appearing on this Website are owned by NWC and/or used with the permission obtained by NWC. Users of the Website have a non-exclusive, non-assignable license to view the Website and download information and may copy information from the Website for personal, or educational use only, provided that, such copy includes the copyright trademark or service mark notice that may appear on any pages that are copied. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

Materials on this Website are governed by, and shall be construed in accordance with the Laws of Jamaica and subject to the rights to arbitration accorded to members of NWC under and in accordance with the NWC Act. Where there are disputes, the same shall be subject to the exclusive, jurisdiction of Jamaican courts.

Revision of Terms of Use

NWC may from time to time alter, revise or amend its Terms of Use by updating this posting. Users shall be bound by any such alteration, revision or amendment and are therefore encouraged to periodically visit and review this page for the current terms of use by which users are bound.

Android Permissions

Location: This permission is used to locate your current location in the Disruptions Module. So, you can know disruptions near you and add your address as per current location.
Photos: Save photos from Gallery to the user device's camera roll.
Camera: Use your camera to take photos in Profile, Other services, New supply, Disruptions, Water theft, Bill related queries.
Notifications: You will receive notifications for Accounts, Requests, Bill related queries, News,
Storage: This permission is required to upload documents/photos from external storage and to save documents/
Image: Save images from a user's gallery to their device's camera roll, and utilise your camera to take visuals and upload them to application.
File information: This authorization is needed in order to upload files or images from external storage and save files to external storage.

iOS Permissions:

PRIVACY STATEMENT

NWC will seek to ensure the highest level of security and privacy regarding the collection and use of customers' personal information as well as that of visitors to its mobile applications. NWC takes your right to privacy very seriously. We will not disclose information about you to anyone, except in instances where we have your consent, or where we are compelled or allowed by law to do so. If you decide to provide us with any information, then you expressly authorise us to use that information in accordance with this policy.

How information is collected

NWC uses a standard web tracking software to collect non-identifying information about our users including:

Date and time site was accessed
Place from which website is accessed
Web browser used
IP Address

How information is used

The collection of this non-identifying information assists NWC in compiling statistics and determining the level of interest in the mobile app. Some areas of the site may use a "cookie", temporarily stored in the visitor's computer memory (RAM) to allow the web server to log the pages used within the site and to know if a visitor has previously visited the site.

Use of Contents of Site

All information, documents, and materials, posted on this site are only for the internal use of site users and may not be resold, republished, or copied, without the prior written consent of National Water Commission. In addition, all information, documents, and materials posted to this site are subject to change without prior notification.

Review of Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will take effect once the revised Privacy Policy is available on our site and so we suggest you check the Privacy Policy whenever you revisit the site.

ONLINE PAYMENT REFUND POLICY STATEMENT

The National Water Commission shall refund to a customer any amount that was paid in error (incorrect payee/ utility or incorrect amount), via the NWC Mobile App, provided that s/he:

a. Submits the request for refund in writing to the Commercial Operations Department, clearly stating the amount paid, the intended amount and the date of payment. The receipt of the payment must be attached.

b. Provides the particulars of the credit card used to make the payment, including the:

i. Card Holder's name
ii. Issuing Bank
iii. Expiration date
iv. Last 4 digits of the Card Number

c. Provides a valid identification, i.e. driver's licence, voter's identification or passport

On receipt of the request, the matter shall be investigated, the customer's account adjusted on the Customer Information System and the amount refunded to the customer's account.
